The Ralph Stover Centennial Barn was constructed in 1876 to commemorate the first 100 years of our nation. This significant building reflected the quality of stonework and infrastructure that was impressive for its time. The barn has a long and interesting history, but it was the current stewards who completed a total renovation in 2005. The entire Barn encompasses 9,000 square feet that includes the main house, a 3-story attached in-law suite and two large guest studios or office spaces. The moment you enter, you are swept away by the open concept of the barn'The vastness is uniquely refreshing and the sweeping curved staircase is the nucleus of the room. Beautiful flooring, exposed beams, a massive woodburning stove, walls of Kolbe & Kolbe windows, a William Draper kitchen, that is a true chef's inspiration and a minutia of antique details that make the space come alive. The Primary suite is an entire floor with large ensuite , extremely well-planned walk-in closet and small bar area. The light floods in from all directions through spectacular window walls. Attached to the main house is a legal rental or guest apartment consisting of 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. On the ground level, there are two separate independent studios that can serve as additional guest quarters, offices, yoga or gym or even an au pair suite. These are special studios that are dramatic and aesthetically exciting. The grounds feature beautiful gardens, Koi pond, a patio, a porch and ample parking. The Ralph Stover Centennial Barn depicts a scene found in a Currier and Ives painting, the difference is, you can now be part of this historical canvas. Please be sure to park in the front of the house for showings and not the back of the house.
