AUCTION OF HISTORIC CLIFTON FARMThis property was sold on September 14, 2022 at an auction held at the property. More than 18 active bidders and over 100 people were in attendance. The minimum starting bid was $4,000,000. The Manor House on the property was completed in 1834. The farm was a Washington Family Tract in the late 1700's. There are many outbuildings, barns, stables, garages and sheds, as well as very old stone guest house structures and a beautiful stone kitchen building. A large stone pool with poolhouse was added more recently. The 411+ acres of mostly open rolling fields and views of the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains are extraordinary. The land is primarily in Clarke County Virginia, although a portion of the undeveloped land is in West Virginia. The auction was managed by Hall and Hall.
