VAUCLUSE SPRING, a spectacular country property, beautifully restored. 7 buildings (houses, cottages on property) with 15 en suite bedrooms. The 1785 Manor House is the centerpiece, with 6 generous-sized luxurious guest suites, dining rooms, sitting rooms and a full commercial kitchen. Six additional houses/cabins are all unique and offer 9 more en-suite guest rooms, comfortable living with fireplaces and private outdoor spaces. The separate owners/caretakers house has 2 BR and full private living quarters. Jetted tubs and fireplaces throughout the guest suites make the experience magical. VS is the perfect place for your family and friends to unwind, or for your corporate group to meet. (It's been a successful Inn/B&B for many years with over 800 rave reviews on trip advisor.) The cabins are sited to take advantage of the gently rolling terrain, woods and the spring-fed pond. Vaucluse Spring itself is a limestone aquifer that produces 1.5 million gallons of water per day and flows from a beautiful waterfall into a bold creek next to Mill House Studio. The Log Cabin, formerly a tobacco barn, overlooks the pond from its private porch. A sparkling 53' x 25' in-ground pool is situated between Chumley Homeplace and The Gallery with views of grounds, gardens and the fields and woods beyond. The Cottage is a short walk from the main house and is located next to the standing chimney of the original owner's former law office. Walking trails through the woods and the setting around the pond create peaceful, serene spaces from which to watch the birds and wildlife. Located in the beautiful northern Shenandoah Valley just north of historic Middletown, Vaucluse Spring is convenient to DC and Dulles Airport, yet is so very rural and serene. Rich with history, Vaucluse Spring was built by one of the valley's earliest families and is now a manageable 44.25 acres. During major renovations in the late 90s, new systems, plumbing, electrical, commercial kitchen were all added, and the beautiful original millwork, mantels, doors and flooring were carefully restored.
